Join the Pageville Affiliate Program and make money for referrals that result in new Pageville customers. Simply offer a link (graphic provided by Pageville) or banner to send visitors from your web site to ours and we pay you $30 if it develops into a sale. It's that easy.

We need a special tracking program because of the way we get new shopping cart customers. Users can download our shopping cart editor plugin and add shopping code to their web sites. They only need to provide a valid e-mail address to use our shopping cart service without time limit in demo mode. Many users are in demo mode for months as they get their sites perfected. Using cookies to track affiliates becomes less reliable as time increases, beginning when the customer arrives from the affiliate site and ending with payment for our shopping service.

Step 1: Identify visitors by affiliate code

There are some Pageville web pages affiliates can link to, to have users marked as coming from that affiliate. An example is www.pageville.com/cart-editor-download.html?Affiliate. "Affiliate" is replaced with the affiliate code.

The Affiliate Code, browser URL, cookie, date and time are stored in a temporary affiliate database table for 30 days. When this occurs, the user's e-mail address is not known and a Shopping Cart ID has not been assigned.

The pages that can be used to assign the affiliate code to the user are:

www.pageville.com/cart-editor-download.html

When linking to these pages, be sure to add a question mark and your affiliate code (without spaces) to the end.

Step 2: Permanently identify affiliate code with Pageville Shopping Cart ID

When a Shopping Cart ID is assigned to a user, the temporary affiliate database table is checked. If the Browser URL matches an entry in the database, that affiliate code is used. Otherwise, if the first three nodes of the URL match, the affiliate code in the database is used. The three node test is to accommodate dial up connections without a static URL. If there is an affiliate code for the user, it is added to the permanent Shopping Cart ID database table.

There are three ways a user can get a Shopping Cart ID.

1. When they first run our Plugin, they must enter an e-mail address. If there is already an ID for that e-mail, it is used. Otherwise one is created.
2. They can go to www.pageville.com and click on Log In. They are asked to sign up.
3. When they purchase our shopping cart service before downloading our Plugin. They enter their e-mail address on the checkout page and a Shopping Cart ID will be assigned to that e-mail address.

Affiliates - Confirm Process

The assigning of affiliate codes can be tested. Just enter a Step 1 link with an affiliate code. Then go to www.pageville.com and click on Log In. Enter your e-mail address and click on sign up. The affiliate code should be displayed (near the bottom).

You can check the results for your affiliate code or your document editor

You can view URL's of users coming from your affiliate web site

You can also clear the record in the database for your browser (ISP) URL.
